Duo Cone Seals

Description:

Mechanical Face Seals also called as Lifetime Seals, Floating Seals, Duo cone Seals, Heavy Duty Seals and Toric Seals are designed and engineered with dynamic sealing technology for providing sealing solutions for a variety of demanding applications such as construction machinery, agricultural equipment, mining machinery, tunnel boring, drive mechanics for tracked vehicles, concrete and cement mixers and many other construction vehicles where conventional seals lack the required durability.

 Design Types:

There are two different types of Mechanical Face Seals.

Type FO

The most common design of Mechanical Face Seals is the FO design, also called as 'O' Ring design, where 'O' Ring acts as the secondary sealing element. FO Type Mechanical Face Seal consists of 2 identical metallic sealing rings which seal against each other on a lapped seal face.

Type FT

The Mechanical Face Seal Type FT consists of two metallic angular seal rings of same geometric contour, the seal rings are assembled with trapezoidal or diamond shaped elastomers instead of an 'O' Ring type elastomer. Both metallic seal rings seal against each other on a lapped seal face.

  • ITK® Mechanical Face Seals Advantages
  • Heavy Duty Seals are effective with abrasive media, pollution, dirt, sand, dust and water from outside and against lubricating fluids from inside.
  • Long Service Life
  • Ease of assembly
  • Self-centring to compensate for shaft eccentricity or misalignment
  • Enhanced lubrication retention and contamination exclusion over a broad range of applications.
  • Simple and reliable design.
  • Cost effective

Typical Applications

Mechanical Face Seals are predominantly used as seal for the bearings in construction machinery, seal for axle of tractor, seal for tread roller of excavator, seal for cutting shaft of crop harvester, seal for screw conveyor for abrasive materials and equipment's operating under extreme arduous and extreme conditions and which are subject to wear.
